Leader Entrepreneur Surgeon
Dr. Kingsley R. Chin is a husband, father of three, practicing board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, CEO of a private healthcare investment firm, author of four books, and motivational coach. He was born in the small, seaside town of Buff Bay, Jamaica to a single teenage mother. Early on, he realized it would take a lot of discipline and grit to achieve his dreams. He’s now changing the healthcare system pioneering outpatient spine surgery techniques and technologies, acquiring and growing new companies, giving back to his home town of Buff Bay and Jamaica, treating patients, creating jobs, and writing motivational leadership books, quotes and music albums.
At 18, Kingsley was accepted to Columbia University in New York City on an academic-athletic soccer scholarship. His senior year he became the first ever and to date the only Jamaican/Black student in the over 270-year history of the Ivy League to be elected Senior Class President of a Student Government. He was an academic-athlete standout graduating from Columbia College with a minor in mathematics and was elected IVY-League Player of the Year and a member of the ETA KAPPA NU Electrical Engineering Society in the Columbia School of Engineering. He went on to work at Goldman Sachs, AT&T Bell Labs, Arthur Andersen (Accenture) and Cigna Insurance to gain business experience, he attended Harvard Medical School where he graduated with Honors, going onto become the Chief Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at UPenn. Eventually, he founded his own practice, The Less Institute of Florida.
It was during medical school, that Dr. Chin made his first million by scraping together a $5,000 down payment to buy and flip real estate. In 2005, he sold a spine implant he invented to a major medical device company (Stryker) in a multi-million dollar deal. With that money, Dr. Chin founded Kingsley Investment Company, a private healthcare investment. He is now the CEO and owner of several medical device technology companies.
His passion is to motivate others and share his journey through speaking, mentorship and writing.
